Today is internet safety day. This is more important than ever now and your children are getting very good at using technology very quickly! So we have planned an internet safety session for you to do with your child instead of our usual history.

English

This week we are going to be finding out about wolves. You are going to be researchers!

If you aren’t able to make the live lesson today then please download the PDF to see what to do!

I will be using a sheet like this one to record my questions – if you want to use the same one you can download it here. Or you can just write your questions on a page in your red book.

Phonics

If you can’t join in with our live session at 11 then please watch Lesson 27 of the Year 1 Spring Term Lessons. where we will be reviewing le, se and ve.

Internet Safety

Safer Internet Day 2021 is being celebrated across the UK today.

With such a huge shift to remote learning and time spent on the internet, teaching our children about how to stay safe online has never been so important.

The theme of Safer Internet Day this year is about children learning how to tell the difference between fact and fiction and whether they can always trust what they see online.

In school we will be having a look at this assembly story:

Please also have a look at the first video clip on the link below which can spark a discussion about the following questions:

What can we trust or not trust? How do we know? How can I check it out? What do I do if I am worried?

This website also has a range of top tips, films, lessons and assemblies for all ages – please do visit if you would like to explore this theme further with your child or other children at home:
