This morning the children wrote some lovely Autumn poems. They used words that we thought of yesterday to create a wonderful word bank. I was really impressed at how they used the word bank and made sure the words were spelt correctly!

Leaf Painting
The children were really focused when they used their water colours this week. They had half a leaf, they then sketched the missing half and finally tried to match the colours when they painted it. The sketching part was quite tricky but they didn’t give up.
Golden Butterfly
We are very proud of this young man who always makes thoughtful contributions to any discussion. This week we were discussing the United Nations Global Goals…click here if you want to find out more
Friday’s Golden Butterfly
Each week someone in every class is put forward for a “Golden Butterfly”. In our virtual Monday morning assembly Mrs Smith asks us all to look out for someone who is making a difference linked to the whole school weekly theme. Then on a Friday Mrs Smith presents them with this gorgeous butterfly card with the teachers nomination written on the back. It is soooooo hard to pick just one child as Meadow 1 is full of super stars!
Today is was this young lady’s turn and we were all super proud of her! The smile says it all!
Painting pumpkins
Today we spent our afternoon painting pumpkins – don’t they look fabulous!
Forest school
Today in the forest school area we had fun in the rain finding all sorts of different things! Thin, tiny, wet, wavy, bumpy, yellow – you name it we managed to find it!
Leaf Man
This week in literacy we have been learning about the lovely journey Leaf Man goes on! The book by Lois Ehlert is stunning and reminds us how different and beautiful leaves are – why not go on a walk this weekend and see how many different leaves you can collect. You could also try to identify trees by their leaves. If you need a bit of help – here is a guide you could use:

Take Ten!
For the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on numbers up to ten. We’ve been ordering them, looking at number bonds up to 10 and are now adding numbers up to ten. Here is a few photos for you to see how we’ve done it!
Welcome to year 1
What a great first week back! We are getting to know your children really well. I now know their names too! I am slowly getting there at the end of the day when you pick up, apologies if I still need to ask! Here is a snap shot of our first week back.
