I have loved getting to know your children this half term. They are an energetic class with a real love for learning! Today they will be bringing home their home learning leaflet with some great ideas for things they might like to do with you over the next few weeks. Just in case anyone loses their paper copy I have added it to the blog here too. Have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing you all again in November! Where has the time gone!

Pond dipping
Every week a group of children get the chance to visit the pond, it is one of our favourite places to be.
Look at the concentration on their faces!
This morning we made the most of the glorious sunshine and painted our pumpkins outside.
Maths at home
So far this term we have been working on numbers up to 10 in lots of different ways. Being able to quickly work with small numbers is so important! There is a great website called Hit the Button which really supports developing these key mental skills. Please try the number bonds, doubles and halves (numbers up to ten). Have fun!
Perfect pumpkins!
This afternoon we made little clay pumpkins in the outdoor classroom. They look so lovely and we can’t wait to paint them next week ready to bring home for half term. Before we used the clay outside we had a little practise using our play doh in the classroom. I think you’ll agree we’ve had a busy week!
Autumn poems
This morning the children wrote some lovely Autumn poems. They used words that we thought of yesterday to create a wonderful word bank. I was really impressed at how they used the word bank and made sure the words were spelt correctly!
Leaf Painting
The children were really focused when they used their water colours this week. They had half a leaf, they then sketched the missing half and finally tried to match the colours when they painted it. The sketching part was quite tricky but they didn’t give up.
Golden Butterfly
We are very proud of this young man who always makes thoughtful contributions to any discussion. This week we were discussing the United Nations Global Goals…click here if you want to find out more
Friday’s Golden Butterfly
Each week someone in every class is put forward for a “Golden Butterfly”. In our virtual Monday morning assembly Mrs Smith asks us all to look out for someone who is making a difference linked to the whole school weekly theme. Then on a Friday Mrs Smith presents them with this gorgeous butterfly card with the teachers nomination written on the back. It is soooooo hard to pick just one child as Meadow 1 is full of super stars!
Today is was this young lady’s turn and we were all super proud of her! The smile says it all!
Painting pumpkins
Today we spent our afternoon painting pumpkins – don’t they look fabulous!
