Tuesday 7th February is national Safer Internet Day. The children have spent time in class discussing and learning about how to stay safe online. The main focus of our learning has been the importance of talking to a trusted grown-up if the children come across anything they don’t like or are unsure of online. We have also touched on our SMART rules for using digital devices and the internet and the different places we can go for help. Ask your child at home about what they can remember about our discussion and for any further information or guidance about staying safe online or Safer Internet Day please visit http://www.damers.dorset.sch.uk/parents/online-safety/ or https://www.saferinternetday.org

Extreme Reading Challenge
Forces and Magnetism
We made a fantastic start to our forces and magnetism science unit this week. We talked a lot about the different vocabulary that we need to use, including contact and non-contact forces and push and pull forces. To demonstrate this we experimented with a piece of paper each and listed all the ways we could make the paper move or change shape. It was brilliant fun and Meadow 3 were incredibly inventive. We then thought about the contact force we put on the paper and listed which were push and which were pull forces.
Our fantastic church service
We were reminiscing in class about our first big performance of the year and how brilliant all of the children were. We can’t wait to show you how far we’ve come in our performance skills when we reveal the dates for our Spring show!
Find the countries in Europe
We had a wonderful time this week starting our Geography project. We had a blank map of Europe and had to find as many countries as we could. It was great fun and we even learned some capital cities too. We can’t wait to continue our journey through Europe!
Beautiful bikes and Sparkling scooters!
Super brilliant maths!
We are so proud of Meadow 3’s maths today. We learned some new vocabulary for Maths which helped us to better understand which part of an addition sum we’re thinking of when we’re discussing our Maths.
Roundhouses
We had a wonderful day making our roundhouses on Monday. It was incredibly messy but it was really interesting trying to work out how to create the roundhouses with just the resources we had.
Our Sponsored Walk-a-thon
We’re so excited to be taking part in the walk-a-thon on Friday! Please remember that everyone will need to be in school uniform but wearing some comfortable trainers. If you have a yellow or spotty accessory to support Children In Need you can also wear this too.
Please give what sponsorship money you can, we will collect this in classrooms on the day.
