Advent Calendar

We have been busy filming our contribution to the Damers Advent Calendar! Each day you can watch a different class share their special contribution on our website! On Friday we watched our finished film and we are so proud of it! We can’t wait for you to see it too.

Where the Wild Things are

In English we are reading the classic story Where the Wild Things are! Last week Mrs Rothman helped us to paint these amazing wild things – pretty wild looking I’m sure you’ll agree!

Golden Butterflies

For the last two weeks the Golden Butterfly award has been given to those children who are particularly kind and thoughtful. Congratulations to these two caring class members!

Bird spotting

Last week we learnt all about the different types of birds we might spot in our garden. We learnt what they looked like and the songs they sing. Some children visited the bird hide. I wonder if you can identify any birds in your gardens or when you are out for a walk?

Kindness day

We’ve had a super day talking about what it means to be kind and how good it can make us feel when we give and receive compliments. The children looked fantastic in their outfits today and enjoyed making a heart to give to someone as a kind gift. Have a lovely weekend!

Bird Feeders

Yesterday we had a messy time making bird feeders using pine cones, vegetarian lard and seeds! We’ve already spotted some birds feeding from them! The idea came from the lovely book we are exploring in literacy “10 things I can do to help my world”

Reading Eggs update!

I have now updated your child’s reading eggs account. Hopefully it will place them in a better starting point for Year 1. Apologies for not doing this before and a big thank you to the lovely mum who queried it this morning. You should also be able to access a part of the web page called Fast Phonics. Again I have set this to a level which will reinforce last half term’s phonics and help support future phonics learning. Any questions please ask. If your child hasn’t started using Reading Eggs then you will find their password in their reading diaries.
