We’ve had a super day talking about what it means to be kind and how good it can make us feel when we give and receive compliments. The children looked fantastic in their outfits today and enjoyed making a heart to give to someone as a kind gift. Have a lovely weekend!
Bird Feeders
Yesterday we had a messy time making bird feeders using pine cones, vegetarian lard and seeds! We’ve already spotted some birds feeding from them! The idea came from the lovely book we are exploring in literacy “10 things I can do to help my world”
Reading Eggs update!
I have now updated your child’s reading eggs account. Hopefully it will place them in a better starting point for Year 1. Apologies for not doing this before and a big thank you to the lovely mum who queried it this morning. You should also be able to access a part of the web page called Fast Phonics. Again I have set this to a level which will reinforce last half term’s phonics and help support future phonics learning. Any questions please ask. If your child hasn’t started using Reading Eggs then you will find their password in their reading diaries.
More home learning!
Some more fab things you have been up to at home!
Food bank Friday
A huge thank you for all the contributions this week! This will be running every Friday so don’t worry if you forgot this week.
Golden Butterfly
We are all really proud of this young man! Congratulations!
Bonfire Night
I hope you managed to see some fireworks. Today we found out the meaning behind
Remember remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot!
Then we went outside and drew our very own firework display in chalk!
Perfect day for the pond!
The Parthenon
This afternoon we found out all about the Parthenon in Greece and talked about why it is a special place. We then sketched it, which wasn’t easy but I’m sure you’ll agree they look fabulous!
Home Learning
It looks like you have been very busy at home over half term! If you still have photos of any home learning to send in please do to year1@damers.dorset.sch.uk – don’t forget to put your child’s name and class in the subject box. Many Thanks Mrs Keys
