Food Bank

A huge thank you for all your contributions this term, you have donated an incredible amount of food. Today, Mr Eddey took the crates down to the Dorchester Food Bank who were very grateful. It’s lovely to have a class project that makes a real difference to the community we live in. Food Bank Friday will start again after Christmas!

  1. Here is a heartfelt message from one of the parents at Damers!

We were so grateful to receive school food bank help at Christmas, I have never had to ask for any help before and have always given to others, so it was a big step having to accept we needed just a bit of help to see us through a difficult time.

    What I learnt:
You never know when you might need to ask for help and its okay to ask
The support is there and Mrs Smith and Mrs Scott are discrete, sensitive and have empathy, they both went out of their way outside of school hours to help at no point did they judge us.
Thanks to the food bank that you all kindly donated to and the support via the school, I was able to keep my mental health and anxiety under control, have a nice Christmas and I have the strength to focus on getting over Covid once and for all.

Thank you , keep giving and remember it is okay to ask for help.
